What You’ll Do

The Paralegal will provide support to the legal department by performing tasks related to company’s health plans, including preparing regulatory filings and coordinating with attorneys and stakeholders regarding filings; performing legal research; communicating with regulators; drafting and reviewing policies and procedures; and providing administrative support to internal counsel. The Paralegal should be comfortable working in a changing and fast-paced environment and enjoy working with attorneys and business team members. Must be able to manage multiple tasks and be detail oriented.

Essential Duties:

• Research state and federal health care laws and regulations
• Prepare state regulatory filings in multiple states, including license applications and annual filings
• Draft company policies and procedures in accordance with legal requirements
• Organize and maintain files
• Collaborate with lawyers and business team in communicating and implementing legal requirements applicable to health care business
• Assist in the creation of mechanisms to monitor changes to rules and regulations applicable to various corporate entities
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of conducting legal research. Health plan or healthcare experience a plus
• Excellent analytical skills
• Excellent communication ability
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and efficiently

Required Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma is required
• Associates Degree in relevant applicable field is preferred
• Three years' experience in a law firm or corporate legal setting
• Paralegal certificate preferred

• Pay: $64,000 - $80,000 per year
