We are looking for a dynamic Senior Corporate Counsel that can represent Rackspace Technology on legal matters as assigned. In this role, you will prepare supporting legal documents, such as contracts, memoranda, corporate governance documentation, and other filings. As well as provide counsel to managers on legal matters impacting their areas of responsibility with an area of legal expertise such as in employment, securities, finance, real estate, or intellectual property law.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITY

    • Expert knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to technology companies.
    • Heavy contract law experience.
    • Dispute management law experience.
    • Excellent time management, communications, decision making, presentation, human relations, and organizational skills.
    • Professional appearance and presentation required.
    • Ability to communicate technical info and ideas so others will understand.
    • Ability to make appropriate decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions.
    • Ability to apply varying leadership skills and traits that create solutions and results to unexpected situations.
    • Ability to coach and motivate less experienced team members to achieve their goals.
    • Ability to successfully work and promote inclusiveness in small groups.
    • Detail-oriented.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Represents the company on legal matters as assigned.
    • Reviews and draws up contracts within the technology supply chain field.
    • Provides counsel to managers on legal matters impacting their areas of responsibility.
    • Gives legal advice with respect to procurement and ongoing supplier and partner compliance.
    • Prepares supporting legal documents, such as contracts, memoranda, and internal governance documentation.
    • Anticipates and guards against legal risks involving the company.
    • Participates in legal actions of a sensitive and complex nature.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

    • JD degree, with emphasis on corporate law and regulations
    • Five+ years of legal experience with two to three years in a multi-national corporate legal environment
    • Experience handling supply chain matters and procurement.
    • Experience advising on government procurement methods and government contracting highly preferred.
