Responsibilities:

The Deputy General Counsel position will be part of the Berkley Healthcare Legal Department providing legal advice and support to Berkley Healthcare Financial Lines and Berkley Healthcare Medical Professional. Areas of responsibility include:

Product Development
Manuscript Coverage
Market, Legal & Legislative Analysis
Regulatory Compliance
Contracts
General Corporate Matters

Qualifications:

Technical Skills and Competencies:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
Juris doctor degree from an accredited university or college
Current state bar license
10+ years experience with a large insurance carrier specializing in Financial Lines insurance, with demonstrated capability and expertise in the following:

Product Drafting
Underwriting & Claims Support
Coverage Training
Market, Legal & Legislative Information Dissemination
Regulatory Compliance Support
Contract Review, Drafting & Negotiations
Corporate Policies & Procedures
Client Management & Service
Project Management
Sound Judgment & Decision Making
