As our Associate Counsel for Privacy, you’ll develop & improve our privacy compliance system. You’ll be the first escalation point for privacy-related questions, engage with prospective and existing business partners to analyze risks & needs, and partner with our contracts team on a wide range of privacy-related contracts.

What you’ll do as the Associate Counsel, Privacy at Notarize:

    • Partner with our engineering and products team on building products and service with a Privacy by Design Approach
    • Perform Privacy Impact Assessments
    • Design privacy disclosures and privacy-related agreements
    • Suggest privacy-related improvements
    • Analyze new privacy laws and develop compliance strategies

What we’re looking for:

    • 10+ years of experience in privacy compliance, privacy technology, or related fields
    • Previous experience in a SaaS/cloud-first environment
    • Demonstrated familiarity with privacy frameworks and legal requirements (CIPM, CIPT, or CDPSE preferred)
    • Ability to communicate well cross-functionally and evangelize for privacy compliance
    • Track record of developing new compliance strategies and processes while managing existing ones
    • Ability to back up ideas and opinions with data and facts in an environment where it's about what is right and not who is right
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to use both to simplify complex risk issues for the business and have courageous conversations with senior leadership

Previous experience with one or more of the following preferred:

    • Knowledge of healthcare privacy (HCISPP, CHPC, or related certification is ideal)
    • RIMS and Information Governance
    • Identity-proofing under NIST 800-63
