Associate Manager, Legal (Enterprise Contracts Lifecycle Management (ECLM) System Operations)

Edwards Lifesciences is seeking an experienced professional who is looking to join a dynamic and fast-paced in-house legal department to support a future of growth for the Company. We are looking for someone who has excellent project management skills, produces high-quality work product, demonstrates initiative, and works with minimal supervision. He or she needs to meet deadlines, be able to handle multiple projects needs simultaneously, and have strong attention to detail and process-orientation. The Associate Manager, Legal is responsible for serving as the legal administrator of the company’s Enterprise Contracts Lifecycle Management (ECLM) system and be part of a larger project team that includes Edwards’ IT and procurement divisions. In addition, Associate Manager, Legal will support the organization with improving enterprise contracting processes and supporting overall operational effectiveness. The Associate Manager, Legal reports directly to and will work closely with the Director, Corporate Counsel in leading the company’s strategic contract management initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and drive ECLM project initiatives from a legal perspective in collaboration with key corporate stakeholders.

  • Define ECLM legal and business process requirements with an attention on global alignment.

  • Participate in key project meetings, requirement workshops, and guide business discussions to drive overall contract system implementation success.

  • Manage templates, clause library, playbooks, training materials, and workflows to align with evolving business needs.

  • Develop strong business relationships with key stakeholders and implement creative solutions with the focus on simplifying existing processes.

  • Support training of business partners on the ECLM system and related contract processes.

  • Be an expert with knowledge and understanding of Edwards policies, procedures, and guidelines relevant to the subject matter of contracts.

  • Effectively manage project team resources (internal or external) and direct assigned project activities with the accountability for successful completion of assigned project deliverables to the business within established project schedules.

  • D evelop and track contracts metrics, create dashboards, and perform analytics as needed.

  • Support attorneys and paralegals with the review, redlining, and negotiation of broad range of transactional contracts as needed.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required.

  • At least 3 years of experience in the areas of contract lifecycle management, legal operations, or other enterprise system implementations.

  • Proven successful project management skills.

  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Strict attention to detail.

  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize projects and tasks appropriately.

  • Ability to be a team player and a trusted business partner.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Paralegal, JD background or legal operations background is highly preferred.

  • Background in healthcare, medical device, pharmaceutical, or related life sciences industry is preferred.
