Responsibilities:
Mimi Smith & Associates, in-house counsel for State Farm Insurance Companies is seeking a paralegal to join our Florida PIP operation. Candidates must have knowledge of litigation procedures and local court rules. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, strong software/technological skills, and experience working in a paperless fast pace environment where all work is time sensitive are required for this role. Qualified candidates must be reliable, dedicated, and team-oriented with a professional appearance and demeanor.

Located in Fort Lauderdale, FL, we enjoy an active, busy civil trial practice. We provide a congenial, team-oriented professional work environment with skilled support staff, competitive salary and exceptional benefits.
Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree and/or paralegal certificate or legal experience preferred
  • 1-2 years of civil litigation experience preferably in PIP defense or insurance defense
  • Familiarity with Court Rules and Procedures
  • Background in preparing draft discovery
  • Strong computer skills and experience working in an electronic/digital environment in particular Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
