Associate General Counsel – Litigation

Location: Chicago, IL

Kimberly-Clark seeks to hire a dynamic and experienced attorney to provide strategic support and guidance for Kimberly-Clark's nearly $8 billion North American Personal Care and Consumer Tissue business. The position is based in the vibrant and newly established North America Commercial Center in Chicago, Illinois and will report to Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for Litigation, Regulatory and Preventative Law.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish a strong partnership with the North American Legal Team providing sound litigation expertise, active leadership and engagement in managing both the enterprise and KCNA litigation portfolio matters impacting the North American Personal Care and Consumer Tissue business;
  • Anticipate and mitigate risk to deliver value and drive the best results for the enterprise;
  • Serve as a key member of the Global Litigation CoE team working collaboratively to manage the CoE’s goals and objectives.

Reporting :

This position reports to the Vice President and Deputy General Counsel – Litigation, Regulatory & Preventative Law and will support the North America Legal Team and the teams and businesses that they support.

Ideal Experience, Qualifications, Capabilities:

  • J.D. and undergraduate degrees earned with superior academic credentials
  • Admission to and good standing in any state bar or the District of Columbia bar
  • A minimum of eight (8) years as a practicing attorney in a progressive litigation practice at top-tier law firm or large multi-national company.
  • Ability to direct and manage activities of, and relationships with, outside counsel
  • Vision and experience in strategic initiatives beyond tactical implementation
  • Inspiration to help others understand key issues
  • Innovative thinking that challenges the status quo
  • Ability to balance legal and business needs, assessing appropriate risk to make tough decisions
  • Ability to demonstrate sound and independent judgment, prudence, and maturity; ability to act independently and work collaboratively across to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to prioritize and work simultaneously on multiple projects and ability to organize and analyze complex information and data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and analytical skills, to work with all levels within the organization and have executive-level presence to interact with regional business leadership
  • Successful experience collaborating across organizational and cultural boundaries
  • Desire to drive personal performance through coaching, feedback, and ongoing development

Travel Requirements : 10-20%
