Spotify seeks a highly motivated and experienced team player and leader to serve as Legal Counsel, Competition. This position will manage antitrust investigations, develop the company’s legal position and strategy on competition matters throughout the world, and work closely with other stakeholders on developing our competition compliance program. What you'll do
Guide the company’s legal strategy across a wide range of competition law issues in jurisdictions worldwide
Represent the company in connection with competition inquiries by regulators and policymakers across the world
Work with a cross-functional team to develop and implement long-term competition strategy
Provide guidance in connection with the review of mergers and acquisitions by antitrust regulators
Advise commercial, product, and engineering teams across the company on a wide range of competition and antitrust issues
Retain and manage outside counsel on a wide range of antitrust matters
Review and advise on pending and developing competition regulation and developments
Who you are
J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one U.S. state bar
5-7+ years of legal experience, including at a law firm and/or in-house, and/or i the public sector, with specific experience working with issues confronting media and technology companies
Experience representing companies in antitrust inquiries, including responding to external inquiries and conducting internal reviews
Excellent interpersonal skills with an absolute commitment to professionalism and collegiality
A track record of effective advocacy before regulators and policymakers and a proven track record of success.
Demonstrated ability to develop innovative and business-focused solutions to regulatory challenges and developments
