The Lubrizol Corporation has an opportunity for a Commercial Transactions Attorney. Reporting directly to our General Counsel, this attorney will provide legal counseling to Lubrizol leaders as well negotiate and document a variety of transactions for our global complex manufacturing company. This is both a strategic and hands-on role where you will partner with the company leaders, while utilizing your legal knowledge and business expertise daily.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Counsel business leaders on achieving business objectives through transactions;
  • Negotiate and evaluate legal risks in relation to commercial contracts; and
  • Other projects as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Attorney with 10+ years’ commercial contracts and transactions experience in a diverse manufacturing environment;
  • Meaningful experience evaluating, structuring, and negotiating commercial contracts and commercial transactions;
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills;
  • High organizational and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to thrive independently in a fast-paced organization;
  • J.D. degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school; and
  • Member in good standing with a State Bar.
A Plus:
  • Chemical manufacturing industry experience;
  • International commercial contracts and transactions experience;
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions and real estate and construction transactions;
  • Familiar with product-liability risks, including in connection with medical products; and
  • Diversified background in a large law firm and in-house setting.
