Legal.io is working with a top financial technology company to hire a Director of Product Compliance. This is a direct hire position to build and scale their product compliance organization.

What You’ll Do:

  • Mature Compliance team by hiring seasoned talent & positioning current team members for success 
  • Propose a detailed vision for the entire compliance organization and a specific plan of action for team improvements and then executing on that plan once aligned
  • Ensure we adapt and maintain a culture of compliance

Who You Are:

  • Leader capable of building a team that focuses on current as well as future needs 
  • Individual who understands the criticality of compliance to the growth of the business 
  • A compliance executive who feels can operate in the grey areas if and when needed 
  • Strong executive presence, critical for meeting with regulators, partner banks and customers (existing and potential) 
  • Credible, transparent leader that has the right balance between strategic and transaction acumen

Required Qualifications:

  • Core banking and lending experience
  • Experience with product design and implementation is a must
  • Prior experience with a growth stage company, preferably start-up
  • JD
  • State bar membership, active and in good standing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience building compliance teams, functions and processes
  • Crypto experience is strongly preferred
  • Fintech experience is preferred
  • CA Bar License preferred

Role Details:
