Legal.io is working with a top financial technology company to hire a Product Counsel. As product counsel you will provide the insights needed to offer best in class financial services, products across each of their platforms - Deposit, Credit, and Crypto. In addition to working on legal agreements for customers, regulators and bank partners, you will also be responsible for working cross-functionally to develop products and ensure they are compliant with laws and regulation both at inception and on an on-going basis.

What You’ll Do:

• Maintain ownership for the overall compliance for our Credit Platform
• Draft and implement user agreements for specific Credit products, disclosures, and disclaimers   
• Research state, federal and certain international laws, rules, and regulations in connection with Credit product offerings 
• Provide legal and compliance insight on new products and services and work with our Product/Engineering teams on the implementation of those products/services   
• Review existing products/services for additional legal and compliance considerations  
• Advise on a range of regulations and industry standards with a focus on consumer protection
• Remain current on laws, rulings, guidance, regulations and government programs  affecting the business's operations   
• Work with customers, regulators and partners to develop best in class financial products

Required Qualifications:

• 6+ years of legal experience in a combination of corporate legal, major law firm and/or FinTech  
• Experience with product design and implementation is a must
• JD
• State bar membership, active and in good standing
• Crypto experience required

Preferred Qualifications:

• CA Bar License preferred
