Facebook seeks a highly motivated, experienced attorney to join our growing legal team as a Lead Counsel, Regulatory. This position will focus on the company's engagement with regulators in the United States and Canada relating to a diverse range of privacy, content, and consumer protection issues. This is a great opportunity to work on novel issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategy for managing and resolving regulatory inquiries and investigations
  • Conduct detailed internal investigations in connection with regulatory inquiries and investigations
  • Represent the company in connection with regulatory inquiries and disputes, including supervision of outside counsel
  • Collaborate with public policy and communications teams to develop and implement regulatory and policy strategy on important and breaking issues
Minimum Qualification
  • J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one U.S. state bar
  • 5+ years of attorney experience, including at a law firm and/or in-house with experience representing companies in litigation, investigations, and/or regulatory matters
  • Experience developing and executing legal strategy
  • Experience collaborating and communicating with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualification
  • Experience with consumer protection, privacy, and/or intermediary liability issues
  • Experience working with internet and technology companies
  • Experience advising business clients on product issues or developing areas of the law
