Ecolab is seeking a professional Paralegal to provide support for our Downstream and Global Chemicals businesses. This position will support the business with review, tracking and support for execution of customer contracts. To be successful, the candidate must have law firm and/or in-house transactional experience and possess strong analytical/analysis skills, attention to details, comprehensive research techniques and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Additionally, the candidate shall be highly motivated, capable of self-direction, able to work collaboratively, possess strong leadership qualities, take initiative on projects and apply sound judgment when solving problems.

What You Will Do:

  • Assist one attorney in the Ecolab Law Department in support of Downstream and Global Chemicals business opportunities including without limitation in more complex commercial transactions, global master agreements, M&A due diligence and resolution of customer claims.
  • Review and propose edits to Ecolab Downstream and Global Chemicals customer contracts.
  • Responsible for working with the Downstream and Global Chemicals sales and finance divisions to process customer contracts effectively and efficiently from intake through negotiation and execution.
  • Responsible for working with Downstream and Global Chemicals sales and finance divisions to evaluate, utilize and upgrade contract management systems.
  • Prepare reporting to communicate effective Law Department support to Downstream and Global Chemicals sales division.
  • Assist Downstream and Global Chemicals in review of scopes of work.
  • Review standard contract templates and forms and implement contract review processes.
  • Providing support to manage subcontractors for Downstream and Global Chemicals including the Avetta subcontractor management system.
  • Providing ongoing training to Downstream and Global Chemicals sales teams and support functions.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of Ecolab contract policies and procedures.
  • Supports and is committed to ensuring a safe working environment and to Ecolab's quality improvement process.
  • Collaborate with Ecolab employees globally to improve contract processing.
  • Collaborate with Ecolab’s patent department in managing and processing confidentiality agreements in support of commercial transactions.
  • Develop solid relationships with key business leaders in the Downstream and Global Chemicals division.
  • Provides support for internal investigation and root cause analysis when needed.
  • Assist in promoting Ecolab’s compliance efforts including without limitation Ecolab’s Code of Conduct.
  • Keeps abreast of changes and developments which affect the Downstream and Global Chemicals division to ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws.
  • Available to work with outside counsel and other attorneys in the Ecolab Law Department in support of complex legal projects.
  • Provides support and assistance for litigation and dispute resolution as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree, Paralegal Certificate, or bachelor’s degree
  • 5 years’ experience as a paralegal, contract administrator and/or legal administrative experience with focus on commercial transactions.
  • Previous experience with contract review and drafting, legal research and project management
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook and the internet
  • No Immigration Sponsorship available for this opportunity
