The Role:

DailyPay is seeking a highly motivated and experienced attorney to join DailyPay's new compliance department and provide leadership support in building and implementing a top-class, highly effective compliance program for DailyPay's fast-growing business. The attorney will work closely with [report to] the Chief Compliance Officer to drive all core, fundamental aspects of developing and maintaining a compliance program, including code of conduct creation and promulgation, designing and maintaining companywide policies, controls and standards; playing a key role in the company's enterprise risk management program and compliance risk assessments; overseeing and participating in creation and roll out of compliance communications and training, preparing materials for senior leadership and the Board of Directors, serving as a key resource to senior managers and the business on compliance matters. The Assistant CC will work closely with various DailyPay departments providing counsel and support to a broad cross section of the company, including the credit management team, new product development, sales and marketing, revenue, data analytics, operations, and others. The attorney will also partner with members of the DailyPay legal team in providing timely business law advice and counsel.

How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Serve as key member of DailyPay's newly formed Compliance team responsible for building, executing and growing the company's compliance program from the ground up.
  • Create systems to document and measure effectiveness of compliance.
  • Provide leadership in promoting culture of ethics and integrity throughout organization and developing program features that embed compliance into all aspects of business.
  • Play a leadership role as a strategic partner ensuring DailyPay's innovative and fast-moving business is conducted - and grows - in compliance with company policies and values and with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Support the Chief Compliance Officer and other management and business leaders with compliance needs and questions.
  • Supervise and assist in investigations, audits and generally identifying gaps with an eye to offering solutions and constantly improving the compliance program.

What You Bring to The Team:

  • 10+ years of experience at a top law firm including hands on compliance experience and/or in-house role in compliance or legal role focusing on compliance.
  • Knowledge of and experience with oversight of compliance programs.
  • Expertise and experience in at least some of the following subject areas: consumer finance, fintech payment processes and digital banking, financial institution and AML regulations, money transmission, credit card and payment processing rules, marketing and advertising law, privacy, cyber/information security, fraud prevention.
  • Superb interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound legal judgement, commercial awareness and business acumen.
  • Ability to demonstrate highest degree of ethical leadership, professionalism, and integrity.
  • Ability to organize and manage complex projects.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work independently.
  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited, nationally recognized top law school and admission to the New York bar or another state bar.
  • Occasional need to work outside of normal business hours as required to support customers may be required
