Facebook seeks a highly motivated team player to serve as Lead Counsel on Facebook’s Legal Compliance team. This position will play a key role advising Facebook’s Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR/VR) business unit on a range of compliance issues, with a specific emphasis on international hardware product compliance matters. This role will be critical to a vertical that goes beyond traditional compliance counseling, delivering practical operational and product solutions to a broad range of internal stakeholders, including product counsel peers and highly skilled compliance professionals.   • Support Facebook Compliance legal team through second line of defense counseling to the AR/VR business unit.
  • Develop product compliance regulatory guidance for FRL product launches in Go to Market jurisdictions.
  • Evaluate impacts of emerging compliance regulations to AR/VR business operations globally.
  • Counsel and train cross-functional teams on various hardware compliance topics throughout the product design process, such as component safety, radio equipment, material restrictions, hardware circularity, and medical devices.
  • Develop and maintain strong, trust-based relationships across a broad-range of business and legal verticals to maintain subject matter expertise on legal developments related to the FRL product portfolio.
  • Build and maintain high-impact legal resources to drive consistent and repeatable compliance processes and results, such as contract and compliance playbooks.
  • Analyze Facebook Reality Labs products in combination with Facebook policies and initiatives to provide practical compliance strategies for products across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed.

  • J.D. degree with membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
  • 5+ years of attorney experience with U.S. and international trade compliance laws at a law firm or in-house with a multinational corporation.
  • Experience drafting, negotiating, and advising on compliance related provisions of contracts.
  • Experience advising and training diverse populations.
  • Interpersonal skills and a commitment to professionalism and collegiality.
