What You'll Bring:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) degree required with 4-6 years of experience practicing as an attorney in a law firm or in-house position. Preferred experience includes advising clients with regard to and negotiating commercial contracts in a regulated environment.
• A team player willing to contribute and operate with in a manner consistent with TransUnion’s Core Beliefs.
• Knowledge and understanding of the following areas of law are recommended, but not required: FCRA, GLBA, privacy, technology, intellectual property, and commercial contracting
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment with other attorneys and business clients.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and critical-thinking skills (logic, problem solving, issue spotting, and decision making).
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal / written communication, and contract drafting and negotiation skills.

• Strong work ethic with the demonstrated ability to manage and handle a significant and diverse work flow in an effective and timely manner.
• Ability to work independently, yet exhibit sound judgment in seeking guidance and direction from senior attorneys and escalating issues.
• Ability to read, interpret and advise business partners on complex documents, including laws, contracts, business documents, system documents, company policies, and procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Excel, and PowerPoint

Impact You'll Make:

We are looking for a Senior Counsel to provide legal services and guidance to the Card and Banking line of business of Trans Union LLC. The candidate will draft and negotiate complex agreements with our customers, help to structure business deals, and exhibit a willingness to learn. The candidate will also be responsible for anticipating and protecting the company against, and advising stakeholders on, business risks and internal policies.

• Make impactful legal decisions and business recommendations for an innovative, dynamic, public company that is a leader in the global marketplace.
• Advise internal clients on legal and business issues and the implications of alternative positions to enable informed business decisions.
• Maintain primary responsibility for reviewing, negotiating, and drafting complex contracts and related documents.
• Provide advice to stakeholders regarding changes in the law, contracts, or other legal issues that may involve the company’s short or long-term strategic operations.
• Responsible for keeping abreast of current legislative and regulatory developments that may have an impact upon operations.
• Assists other attorneys on various matters including those which present potential for litigation.
• Maintain complete confidentiality of company-related business.
• Keep immediate supervisor informed of pertinent developments within areas of assigned responsibilities.
• Provide formal and informal training for internal clients.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• This position may require occasional travel.
