Position Summary


Immigration Specialist/Paralegal
Under Armour’s Immigration Specialist/Paralegal is primarily responsible for the coordination of immigration processes across the globe. The successful candidate will manage global immigration filings and the vendors that support the business, as well as serve as a key advisor to members of the Human Resources Department as they strategize on the viability of sponsorship for external hires or complexities of internal moves. In addition to core immigration responsibilities, this role will support the broader employment team on key projects and initiatives.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and compliant maintenance of Visa status for sponsored individuals by collaborating with internal partners and external vendors. This includes, but is not limited to, assessing Visa category most appropriate for the organization and the Teammate, filing for extensions and renewals, monitoring renewal availability, and filing amended petitions, changes of status notifications and communicating with the appropriate authorities when employment status is terminated with the Company.
  • During the pre-hire process, provide guidance to the Talent Acquisition Team by conducting a viability assessment of candidate Visa Sponsorship and long-term employment options in the U.S.
  • Contribute to immigration resources that promote self-service and consult on projects to develop communication suites and communication and content strategies
  • Adjudicate Green Card requests in accordance with the Green Card Policy, with an appreciation for the company’s strategic direction, key needs of the business and manager and teammate requests.
  • Aid STEM and OPT students with proper completion of training plans (as required by academic institutions).
  • Work closely with Under Armour’s Managing Counsel for Employment in identifying key industry and internal trends, strategizing on key Teammate moves, as well as keeping abreast of regulatory and legislative changes that might impact Under Armour’s Immigration business. Develop strategies in response to the trend analysis.
  • Lead special projects at the direction of Managing Counsel for Employment
  • Develop and refine policies and procedures that both enable the business and ensures fair and equitable administration of immigration practices in furtherance of a high quality customer experience.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education And / Or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate
  • 5+ years of high-volume business immigration experience with heavy emphasis on consultative services or program management, either within a law firm or in-house in an organization with a significant volume of immigration-supported employees or in a recruiting or HR role with heavy US immigration involvement
  • Experience identifying and resolving complex issues, assuming leadership roles in unfamiliar or ambiguous circumstances – solid sense of accountability and sound personal judgment
  • Excellent written and verbal communications - ability to interface with all levels of the organization
  • Experience managing large, complex projects, tracking key dates and deliverables
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn, navigate and leverage online tools utilized by external legal service providers.

  • Position is Fully Remote, but must be willing to travel to HQ in Baltimore for key ocassions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Adobe,
