Job Description:

This position will perform paralegal functions and provide support services for patent filings to lawyers and clients. Job responsibilities include preparing and filing patent applications and various prosecution documents via the electronic filing system (EFS-Web); communication with clients; and maintaining and reviewing docket. Must have strong knowledge of USPTO rules and requirements and maintaining U.S. & Foreign Patent Prosecution cases. Knowledge of international procedures and requirements a strong plus. We are searching for a self-starter with problem solving abilities and the following attributes: excellent communication and organizational skills, strong attention to detail, works well under pressure, ability to multi-task and prioritize, works well both independently and as a team member, and is proficient in working effectively in a fast paced and high-pressured environment. Must have excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Acrobat, and Outlook. Excellent grammar, proofreading, and English composition skills are also essential. Requires 5+ years of recent experience working as a patent prosecution secretary or paralegal in a law firm or in-house legal department, or equivalent. Paralegal Certificate or BA a strong plus.
