What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Work with Corporate Counsel to draft, manage and organize resolutions, minutes, written actions and documents related to corporate transactions; assist with due diligence in areas of corporate records, contracts and leases
  • Conduct basic research regarding corporate law issues
  • Assist with gathering, organizing and producing information and documents in response to administrative charges; perform basic research regarding state and federal employment law issues
  • Prepare, organize and coordinate separation agreements and severance payments; work with outside immigration counsel on matters concerning employment visa applications, extensions, transfers and green card application filing
  • Assist with preparing or reviewing contracts and correspondence, including research and preliminary drafts
  • Develop and maintain a database of legal templates and forms to improve departmental efficiency; create and manage a file system for easy retrieval of due diligence documents; maintain due diligence data rooms
  • Gather, organize and produce information and documents in response to discovery requests and subpoenas; track and ensure compliance with deadlines

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 1 year of corporate paralegal experience within a law firm or in-house environment
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint; excellent typing speed with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of ethical boundaries of position and when to consult with attorney

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate or other post-secondary degree
  • 7 years of corporate paralegal experience within a law firm or in-house environment
  • Public company and corporate governance experience, including advanced knowledge of rules and regulations pertinent to corporate governance matters
  • Familiarity with Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to handle several detailed tasks concurrently with ease and a high degree of professionalism, including the flexibility necessary to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities; ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to perform complex analysis of data, processes, policies, procedures and/or systems; able to produce unambiguous, comprehensive and accurate interpretations
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential and sensitive materials and information; ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, including senior management and support staff
