Northgate Property Services (NPS) currently boasts a diverse and robust apartment and camp-resorts property management portfolio. Doing business as Northgate Resorts, we own and manage the most awarded Camp-Resort portfolio in the nation. Additionally, NPS is excited to expand into the car wash industry as an operator of the well-received Tommy’s Express Car Wash franchise. As an innovative organization, we will be working diligently to build, develop, and operate facilities located in Georgia, Florida, and North Carolina. This position is an excellent opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a well-developed company with a ton of growth potential as we diversify and rapidly expand.

We are seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented, and personable Real Estate Associate Attorney to provide legal counsel and guidance to Northgate Resorts and Northgate Tommy’s Express property development groups (collectively, “Northgate”) on all aspects of real estate acquisition, management, land use, and development. This position reports to Northgate’s General Counsel. This position primarily drafts and negotiates real estate-related contracts for Northgate Resorts and our Tommy’s Express franchise operations and provides legal counsel and guidance on all real estate-related matters for our camp-resorts and car wash franchise locations.

  • Legal review, drafting, and negotiation of a wide variety of real estate contracts for Northgate, including the following:
  • LOI’s and purchase and sale agreements;
  • Amendments to agreements;
  • Sale-leaseback agreements;
  • Franchise agreements;
  • Financing and loan-related documents; and,
  • Operating agreements.
  • Advise on contract status, legal risks, and the legal liabilities associated with different deals/acquisitions.
  • Research and anticipate unique legal issues that could impact the company.
  • Coordinate all due diligence for various acquisitions, including environmental assessments, surveys, zoning reports, and effectively communicate status and deadlines with the acquisitions team.
  • Collaborate as part of a team with business leaders and other departments to provide creative solutions to business issues while eliminating or minimizing legal risks.
  • Assist with contract and other commercial disputes that may arise.
  • Handle day-to-day legal issues that arise and develop, review and revise various policies, processes, templates, and forms.
  • Must have a law degree (Juris Doctor) with 4+ years of legal experience, including in-house or real estate/land use law or a paralegal certificate, LLM, or similar degree with a minimum of 10 years experience in commercial real estate transactions.
  • Ability to partner effectively with our business units in a collaborative environment to understand and achieve stated business objectives within tight deadlines and with minimal supervision;
  • High sense of urgency and ability to juggle multiple, competing priorities;
  • An effective communicator with members of the legal department, leadership team, and our resorts’ and car washes’ management team;
  • Contribute to business decisions with convincing advice and can express information clearly and in a manner appropriate for the audience;
