Job Overview:

The Legal Division at Olive is dedicated to providing world-class service and support across the Olive enterprise. In this role, you will be uniquely positioned to develop professionally in an incredibly fast-paced environment at a high-growth healthcare automation company. The Sr. Corporate Counsel – Compliance & Privacy will support Olive’s global compliance and privacy initiatives.

Olive deploys a flexible, distributed workforce and this position can be located anywhere in the United States. The candidate is expected to be generally available during normal business hours and will report to Olive’s Privacy Counsel & Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advance and support Olive’s global compliance program regarding global trade sanctions compliance, corrupt practices (FCPA, UK-Anti Bribery, etc..), customs laws, supply-chain and AML/BSA compliance
  • Advise on regulatory requirements for product development, in support of Olive’s product counsels
  • Provide legal advice on Olive’s various business initiatives to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements
  • Support Olive’s Privacy Officer
  • Research and provide practical guidance on compliance and regulatory developments and the potential impact to business initiatives
  • Assist in managing Olive’s risk management, compliance, and privacy tools
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to perform risk and impact assessments and audits and develop and implement remediation or corrective action plans, where necessary
  • Draft, revise, maintain, and monitor Olive’s global compliance and privacy policies and procedures
  • Negotiate and draft compliance and privacy provisions for contracts and other agreements with customers, vendors, and partners
  • Develop and provide training compliance and privacy training to Olivians, as necessary

Requirements

  • Broad understanding of global compliance frameworks and regulations.
  • Broad understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements such as –Fraud, Waste & Abuse; Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS); Anti-Kickback Statute; Stark Law; False Claims Act; HIPAA.
  • Broad understanding of relevant privacy regulations and frameworks, such as HIPAA, CCPA, and GDPR.
  • Experience developing or working with global compliance and privacy programs.
  • Experience with healthcare compliance.
  • Experience with financial services compliance is a plus.
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and a member in good standing of any U.S. state bar.
  • 3+ years of experience practicing law in a fast-paced environment and substantive experience in advising companies within healthcare on issues of compliance and privacy.
  • Demonstrated success in working cross-functionally and providing business-oriented solutions.
  • Ability to develop creative and out of the box solutions, work well within a team or independently, take initiative and be a self-starter, and ability to effectively pivot and be flexible to address quickly changing priorities.
