Summary Description:
The Risk Management Paralegal provides support for an array of legal functions, primarily focused on claims management, review of owner contracts and subcontracts, compliance, and other transactional support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the company’s Corporate Counsel with management of claims.
  • Provide support for corporate compliance, governance, and licensing.
  • Assist team with providing legal information for requests RFPs/RFQs.
  • Review client contracts, identify risk, ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate policies, and discuss the basis for changes to contracts with management.
  • Advise project teams on contract requirements, and assists team with satisfying project legal requirements.
  • Review and assist counsel with monitoring corporate contracts.
  • Conduct regulatory research, track applicable mandates, and government orders.
  • Drive the contract execution process, including maintaining spreadsheets and logs, related to tracking owner contracts, and regularly update management on status.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of standard American Institute of Architects (AIA) contract documents.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of four years of experience in an in-house legal department, law firm, or construction company.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including handling confidential/proprietary information.
  • Ability to prioritize, work independently, and meet deadlines with minimal oversight.
  • Superior organizational skills with detail orientation.
