Job Description:

Performs highest level of substantive legal based services; uses advanced skills developed through substantial experience in a specialized area and is a relied upon resource for complex matters. Regularly uses discretion and independent judgment in matters of consequence to the Bank and its clients.

This role supports the legal services teams for two distinct parts of the bank: ESG/Sponsorships and Global Real Estate Services (GRES).

  • ESG initiatives and transactions include grant agreements; sponsorship agreements; education and information outreach in multiple media formats; rights agreements and licenses; media communications; carbon reduction and climate change initiatives; affordable housing facilitation; social investments; and support on social and environmental policy initiatives.
  • GRES support includes review and negotiation of leases, drafting of simple terminations and extensions of lease; purchase and sale agreements, easements, SNDAs and similar documents; addressing property and project management issues; dispute resolution; outside counsel management; and similar company-owned and leased real estate matters. Run down due diligence issues, i.e., title, survey, land use, and assistance with facility partner support and processes.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • 5+ years paralegal experience as a paralegal in a firm or corporation
  • Paralegal Certificate
  • Self-starter who can work independently
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and writing skills

Desired Skills & Abilties:

  • At least 2 years experience in real estate transactions
  • Experience in ESG-related work a plus
