What you’ll achieve
As Senior Counsel - Information Technology, you will be responsible for providing legal support to Dell’s Chief Digital Officer and global Information Technology organization (Dell Digital) on the development of IT policies, procedures, protocols, assessments.  This role will report to Dell’s VP Security & IT Legal, and you will act as legal advisor and manage a variety of information technology-related legal matters, as well as partner with key stakeholders including the Security & Resiliency Organization (SRO), Global Operations, Audit and Privacy.

You will:

  • Review and evaluate the impact of legislative, regulatory, and industry proposals applicable to Dell’s IT initiatives

  • Collaborate with Dell Digital, Privacy and Product groups on Enterprise Data Governance Strategy teams to help identify, develop and mature processes, operations and technologies in support of Dell’s Enterprise Data Governance initiatives

  • Partner with Global Procurement legal teams and Third Party Risk Management to draft, negotiate, maintain and provide training on third-party risk management security schedule and playbook

  • Partner with SRO, Privacy and Legal to respond to privacy and security incidents relating to Dell Digital Commerce Services

  • Coordinate and collaborate with product lawyers and other teams to evaluate IT requirements for new product launches

Essential Requirements

  • JD and admission to practice law in the United States

  • Minimum of 5-7 years relevant law firm and/or in-house experience supporting an Information Technology and/or cybersecurity organization

  • Familiarity with IT, data center operations, networks, Internet infrastructure, and cybersecurity technical concepts and methodologies and ability to communicate and discuss technical concepts

  • Hands-on expertise and knowledge of global industry standards and security frameworks, information security and privacy laws and regulations (e.g. ISO, SOC, NIST CSF, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, GDPR, CCPA et al)

  • Experience in IT contracting, with an emphasis on drafting and negotiating, cloud services (e.g. SaaS, IaaS, PaaS), information technology and software licensing agreements, collocation agreements, software development agreements

Desirable Requirements

  • Website accessibility knowledge is a plus

  • Experience in legal project management and legal risk management
