Founded in 2020, Resilience has expanded to over a dozen sites, 1,700 people and is working with top organizations across biopharma and academia to reimagine biomanufacturing. We are looking for an experienced legal operations expert to lead the Legal Operations function.

 

About the Job

You will work directly with the Chief Legal Officer and other Resilience attorneys to implement processes, systems, and procedures to enable an efficient and effective Legal team.  

 

Responsibilities

  • Drive execution of Legal Department priorities
  • Enhance the efficiency, operations, and performance of the Legal Department, including resource planning and workflow optimization initiatives
  • Develop and implement appropriate metrics and benchmarking through data analytics to measure the legal team’s performance both within and outside the department
  • Partner with Finance and Accounting regarding Legal Department budgeting, forecasting and accruals. Manage departmental budget, including the planning cycle within the company timeline
  • Assist in managing Legal risks to the Company and use financial transparency to help internal clients understand cost and risk factors with legal consequences
  • Ensure communication and coordination within the Legal Department
  • Ensure implementation and effectiveness of training programs and self-service tools for internal clients
  • Manage engagement of and relationships, spend and billing with outside counsel
  • Manage external legal vendors, including development of cost and performance related KPIs and cost-efficient billing processes
  • Create and maintain a technology roadmap to drive the efficiency and effectiveness of the Department

Own legal department technology solutions and related processes and training, including:

  • Contract Management (Ironclad),
  • e-billing (SimpleLegal)
  • Document Management (Box)
  • Intranet/Knowledge Management (Confluence)

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • The ideal candidate has at least 8+ years working in an in-house legal department (minimum of 4 years at the management level) for a Fortune 500 or global technology company
  • Demonstrated experience building a legal operations function for a large organization from the ground up
  • Deep working knowledge and hands-on experience with legal technology tools and applications, preferably those listed in the bullets above
  • Demonstrated experience managing legal programs, projects, and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to independently move projects forward by gaining support from others and to work collaboratively with cross-functional groups to set objectives, drive progress, and produce meaningful results
  • Excellent communication, organization, and planning skills
  • Impeccable professional ethics, integrity, and judgment
