Minimum qualifications:

  • JD or equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  •  3 years of experience of attorney practice.
  • Experience from a law firm health care practice or in-house legal department.
  • Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law in the state of hire.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in one of the following: Regulation of medical device and/or biopharmaceutical products, HIPAA and the HITECH Act, the laws and regulations that govern clinical research, healthcare fraud/abuse laws, and/or government contracting.
  • Ability to provide advice, legal direction, and training on U.S. and international laws and regulations related to the development and commercialization of medical devices and other health technologies, including human subject protection, data privacy, product liability, healthcare fraud and abuse, and medical device regulation.

As an Associate Product Counsel, you will support Fitbit, health and wellness, and other products and services with Google's Devices and Services business unit.

Responsibilities

  • Provide solution-oriented legal advice to teams from engineering, research, product management, and business development from the initial stages of product development through launch.
  • Develop and maintain legal resources that are required for products, such as terms of service, privacy notices and other disclosures.
  • Act in a fast paced environment with limited direction, balance competing priorities, and manage several time-sensitive projects at once.
