EquipmentShare is searching for Legal Counsel for our corporate office in Columbia, MO, to support our legal team as the department continues to grow.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct and coordinate legal research into a variety of issues
  • Draft, review and revise legal documents including contracts, policies, and procedures
  • Prepare legal memoranda, summaries, charts, and other deliverables
  • Work on multiple, time-sensitive projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Advise internal business clients on strategies to address client needs
  • Assist the Legal Department efforts in the creation, implementation and refinement of forms, processes, policies and procedures to create efficiencies and cost savings
  • Review and respond to subpoenas, pleadings, discovery, or other legal documents that are received in the ordinary course of business
  • Anticipate, propose, and drive solutions for a range of legal and business issues

Skills & Qualifications

  • Requires J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Attorney license in good standing and admission to the bar in Missouri or willing and able to get licensed in Missouri
  • At least 3 years of substantive legal experience
  • Proactive work ethic demonstrating initiative
  • Strong research skills, including ability to analyze and interpret case law and regulations
  • Highly proficient computer skills, including ability to learn and use proprietary computer systems and databases
  • Experience drafting policies, procedures, memoranda
  • Ability to multi-task within a fast-paced work environment with very detailed information and maintain a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to organize, coordinate, manage self and time effectively, prioritize projects, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively, professionally, and persuasively with employees, managers, and the public, both verbally and in writing
  • Self-directed and able to learn and work effectively both independently and in a team environment
  • Adaptable to growth and changes in organization, role, and systems
  • Must be located in or willing to relocate to Columbia, MO
