We currently have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Sr. Counsel-Litigation.

Responsibilities

This role will contribute to our growing in-house legal team and work on complex issues in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This position reports to the Associate General Counsel – Litigation and Government Investigations and will be part of an active and collaborative team of attorneys and paralegals. The Sr. Counsel - Litigation will provide legal advice to internal clients, supervise/manage litigation matters, and serve as a resource for the organization on complex legal issues.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide management and supervision of outside counsel on complex commercial litigation matters, including determination of negotiation and settlement strategy
  • Develop strategy and tactics for complex, high-profile litigation, disputes and investigations
  • Manage budgets for litigation matters and related projects to incentivize cost savings and promote alternative fee arrangements
  • Assist in the representation of Envision and its affiliates in formal and informal dispute resolution processes and mediation, as well as administrative proceedings before governmental or regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to provide recommendations to internal clients
  • Prepare written opinions and guidance for management teams
  • Work with key leaders to help identify and mitigate legal issues across the organization and assist in crafting solutions to protect the company's interests
  • Draft, review and, where applicable, negotiate legal documents, including but not limited to correspondence, settlement agreements, demand letters, and internal memos.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Read and abide by the company’s code of conduct, ethics statements, employee handbook(s), policies and procedures and other corporate mandates, including participation in mandatory training programs.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the company’s corporate compliance program, policies and procedures by exhibiting the company values and acting in accordance with any reporting policies of the company.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Expertise in complex commercial litigation or employment litigation
  • Experience with eDiscovery issues
  • High-level analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong project management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, manage a variety of projects simultaneously, meet aggressive deadlines and successfully handle urgent situations with patience and diplomacy
  • An agile and flexible thinker, with the ability to learn emerging areas of the law and the business quickly
  • Ability to function independently and as a part of a team
  • Ability to build credibility quickly and provide strong legal support for a complex and challenging business, while positively and successfully managing relationships within a diverse group of stakeholders
  • A commitment to personal and professional growth, and receptivity to feedback

Education/Experience

Licensed attorney holding a J.D. from a top-tier law school with a minimum of five (7) years of related experience in a law firm or in-house setting.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of:

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Legal Research Tools (i.e. LexisNexis)
  • Matter Management/eBilling Software

Certificates and Licenses (if applicable)

  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing in at least one U.S. state; preference given to candidates who are licensed to practice law in Florida

Please note, this position is remote and the pay range presented is specific to the Denver, Colorado market. Salary bands across the enterprise may differ due to cost of living adjustments and are specific to an employee’s address.

Colorado Salary range - $120-$150K
