The successful candidate will lead our newly-formed Marketing & IP Legal Operations team, supporting our Marketing, IP, Trademark & Brand Protection Legal teams based in LA. With significant experience in an operational, business or legal setting, they will thrive on ideating and then building innovative and scalable ways to increase efficiency and leverage data. They will be highly-organized, self-motivated, quick-thinking, flexible, technology oriented, and able to juggle multiple responsibilities on a large portfolio with an unwavering attention to detail. This is a fast-paced role that requires curiosity and significant initiative. The role requires vision and strategic thinking around data management, insights, and workflows.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

Strategy & Innovation

  • Proactively identify workflow/operational pain-points and opportunities; spearhead and socialize innovation and continuous improvements.
  • Engage in proactive and timely strategic project management for the team, including setting priorities around high-impact projects.
  • Identify and advocate for more automated information solutions, leveraging pre-existing data and reducing manual data-entry/unnecessary replication of data.
  • Own and implement tooling and tech roadmap for the team.
  • Implement a strategic approach to trackers and Airtables, monitoring and encouraging broader tracker trends/tool adoption. 
  • Align priorities with adjacent Ops and Workflows teams across Content Legal.
  • Liaise with cross-functional partners like Studio Product, Engineering, Studio Tech Solutions, and the Legal Operations and Tech and Knowledge Management teams on i) identifying/prioritizing opportunities ii) designing process improvements and iii) implementing solutions.  
  • Socialize innovations with the broader Legal teams and cross functional partners who rely on the information we track.
  • Assist with hiring & onboarding of new Operations & Workflow colleagues.

Data & Insights

  • Configure systems, business processes, and build reports and dashboards based on business requirements.  
  • Develop insights from large data sets (e.g., claims data) to help inform business and legal strategies.
  • Train team members on best practices for Airtable and other third-party tools.

Collection, Tracking & Maintenance

  • Collect marketing-related restriction documents from internal teams (Clearance, Credits, Legal Delivery, BLA) and organize and publish them as business-facing FAQs. 
  • Maintain/update suite of Airtables and dashboards tracking IP & Marketing matters (e.g., claims, clearance requests, ad-promo restrictions, knowledge management).
  • Maintain/update existing templates and forms; create and organize new forms as needed.
  • Maintain internal-facing Marketing & IP websites.
  • Develop and implement workflows to centralize guidance docs and memos.
  • Oversee uploading and tagging marketing contracts into our contracts database.
  • Foster global alignment and knowledge sharing; working with the contacts in EMEA, APAC, and LATAM to ensure global tooling works for their region’s needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High level of proficiency building complex bases in Airtable, Google Suite Enterprise.
  • Operations experience, including design of workflows, systems, tooling and data dashboards.
  • Proven track record of successful project management from inception to launch.
  • Experience managing complex and sometimes ambiguous projects, with a broad set of stakeholders.
  • Substantial experience in the entertainment or related content-creation industry.
  • At least 7 years of related work experience.
  • Fluency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Slack, Airtable and Google Suite including Google’s Data Analytics platform.

At Netflix, we carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors to determine your personal top of market. We rely on market indicators to determine compensation and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to get it right. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary and will also be dependent on your location. 
 
The overall market range for this role is typically $80,000 - $440,000.
