We’re currently seeking an individual who thrives in a fast-paced and high-performing environment to join our company as Paralegal, Contracts. Reporting to the Director - Contracts Counsel, the Paralegal, Contracts will support Arcus’s general and research and development contracting needs in support of the company’s mission to develop innovative cancer immunotherapies.

Responsibilities

• Supporting contracts attorneys with triaging and review of assigned contracts, escalating issues for attorney review when necessary
• Preparing initial drafts of confidentiality agreements, services agreement, consulting agreements, statements of work and amendments utilizing templates and playbooks
• Assisting with the execution of contracts in compliance with company policies and capturing of key data in the company’s contracts management system
• Supporting the use of and contributing to the development and enhancement of the company’s contracts management system
• Contributing to the ongoing improvement of contracting parameters and procedures
• Interacting with individuals across the organization on contract matters
• Advising and educating individuals on company policies and good contracting practices
• Providing support for special projects or to other members of the Legal department as needed

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university highly preferred
• 4+ years of contracts experience at a nationally recognized law firm or in-house at a life sciences company preferred
• Ability to handle, prioritize and follow through on a high volume of work and delivering results efficiently
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with individuals from all departments and at all levels of the organization
• Superior organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail; high level of accuracy and excellent proofreading skills
• Knowledge of U.S. and foreign regulatory and compliance matters relevant to the biopharmaceutical industry preferred
• Comfortable learning and using tools and technology to improve process efficiency and transparency
• Enthusiastic and resourceful

This role can be based at our Hayward or Brisbane, CA locations (preferred) or can be remote based. The anticipated salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this position is $100,000 - $110,000. For remote-based candidates, the salary range may vary based on local market data. Factors such as relevant experience, education, duration of experience, and length of industry experience will influence the actual salary offered.
