ABOUT THE ROLE:  

Work with the Legal Department in the following areas: litigation support; construction advising; contracting concerning construction, real estate development, and commercial real estate operations; and attorney administrative support. Familiarity with litigation, contracting, and general corporate governance is essential. Experience with Salesforce is desired.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:  

  • Assist attorney with managing outside counsel, scheduling and calendaring, gathering and reviewing relevant evidence, and file management on litigation matters.

  • Assist attorney with research and various tasks concerning a wide array of litigation, including construction defect, real estate sales, and landlord-tenant disputes. This may include preparing documents for meetings.

  • Prepare draft contracts for construction, real estate development, and commercial real estate operations.

  • Prepare purchase and sale agreements, easements, amendments, leases, subleases, and other legal documentation concerning title or possession of property.

  • Work in conjunction with litigation, construction, real estate, and corporate attorneys, other paralegals, and legal assistants with regard to various legal matters.

  • Work with members of construction, real estate development, and commercial real estate operations departments to streamline and focus efforts.

  • Other duties as assigned.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.

  • Paralegal certification preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of related legal experience in a law firm, title company, or in a corporate legal department.

  • Must have paralegal experience in the commercial real estate industry.

  • Familiarity with legal contracts and related terminology.

  • Professional interaction with attorneys, clients, and vendors.

  • Build positive working relationships with employees at all levels within the organization.

  • Exercise sound judgment when making decisions.

  • Work overtime as required.

  • Able to meet deadlines.

  • Effectively work with minimal supervision.

  • Strong organization skills with attention to detail.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Creative problem solver and critical thinker.

  • “Can-do” attitude, proactive, and resourceful.

  • Highly proficient in MS office applications: Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
