How will you make an impact in this role?

Responsible for helping to reduce and control fraud losses within a specific region by conducting internal and external investigations into suspected fraud against American Express, with emphasis on routine and moderately complex cases.  Help to ensure the successful prosecution of individuals charged with committing crimes against American Express and its subsidiaries.

  • Assist in the reduction and control of fraud losses by effectively performing investigations of suspected fraud against American Express and its subsidiaries.
  • Review assigned investigative requests, gather and analyze documentary evidence, coordinate with local law enforcement and conduct field interviews.
  • Collaborate on fraud, insider threat, and cybercrime investigations with counterparts at other organizations.
  • Assist in successful prosecution of individuals charged with committing crimes against the Company by preparing well-documented and written investigative reports for presentation to prosecutors.
  • Establish and develop confidential courses of information regarding criminal activity.
  • Maintain strong day to day working relationships with federal, state and local law enforcement and intelligence agencies.
  • On call 24/7/365

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Previous job experience is required - with at least 2 years experience in law enforcement and/or investigative work.
  • Excellent verbal, written and computer skills with thorough knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated skills in conducting field investigations involving financial and cyber/computer fraud.
  • Must be the ultimate team player and have an understanding of networking between law enforcement and the financial services industry.
  • Strong interviewing and interpersonal skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or other 4-year degree a plus - preferred fields of study include business, criminal justice, and social sciences.
  • Cyber investigation knowledge and experience preferred.
  • Detailed understanding of prosecution guidelines, privacy laws and associated criminal laws.
  • Highly developed analytical abilities with basic knowledge of finance and related transactions.

Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
