Blue Owl is looking for a Vice President to join its Legal team. This role will be based in New York and provide legal coverage for financing transactions across Blue Owl and its Credit, GP Capital Solutions and Real Estate platforms.
The ideal candidate is a highly detail-oriented and organized individual who can manage multiple projects and who is excited about being part of a Legal team that covers a broad range of issues. We are looking for candidates who are intellectually curious and interested in the intersection of law, technology, and finance.
Key Responsibilities:
Support financing transactions for Blue Owl Capital and the funds across Blue Owl’s Credit, GP Capital Solutions and Real Estate platforms for debt financing and structured product transactions, including collateralized loan obligations (CLOs), loan-on-loan transactions and CMBS financings
Review transaction documents associated with debt financing and structured products, including term sheets, credit agreements, fee letters, disclosure documents, legal opinions and ancillary documents
Coordinate signature and approval of all such transactions and draft and review any related required public disclosure
Remain up-to-speed on all related regulation and undertake projects designed to ensure compliance
As needed, assist on other financing transactions, including private and public capital markets transactions for Blue Owl Capital and its platforms and related disclosure issues
Develop strong working relationships and partnerships with other teams to support client needs
Ensure that all transaction documents are stored in secure, organized file systems
Perform special projects and other responsibilities for the Legal team
What's Required:
5-7 years of experience at major law firm or in-house legal department working on debt financing transactions; structured products, loan-on-loan, CMBS and CLO experience a plus
Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
At least one active bar membership/license to practice law in any state
Demonstrated drive for results and ability to prioritize risks and projects to focus on what’s important in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
Excellent planning and organization skills; meticulous attention to detail is a must
Strong working knowledge of Office Suite, with emphasis on Excel
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Solutions-oriented problem solver
Strong work ethic and willingness to roll up sleeves to get things done
Team player with enthusiasm and intellectual curiosity to learn more
It is expected that the base annual salary range for this New York City-based position will be $150,000 to $185,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
