Life as an In-House Corporate Counsel at CES:

We are seeking a driven and ambitious Real Estate Corporate Counsel to join our team to lead the growth and enhancement of our real estate practice. The selected candidate will oversee and manage all legal aspects related to leasing, acquisition, disposition, and other property-related matters for City Electric Supply throughout North America. This person should be a natural leader, highly motivated, and possess a strong desire to contribute to the success of the business. They will have a keen interest in continuously educating themselves on industry trends and emerging opportunities to strategically expand our real estate portfolio. This role is integral to supporting our mission of expanding our department’s reach in serving the company while maintaining our core values and commitment to excellence.

Your Key Objectives: 

  • Ability to provide expert legal guidance on real estate transactions, including leasing, acquisitions, dispositions, and property management.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial real estate contracts and agreements.
  • Participate in strategic planning and provide legal support to various departments within the company.
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to expand and optimize the real estate practice.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and capitalize on big-picture real estate opportunities that align with our business objectives.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement within the existing real estate practices and develop innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Proficiency in contract lifecycle management software is preferred. We currently use Ironclad.
  • Excellent organizational, writing, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • We are seeking an enthusiastic team player who desires to be an important part of the legal department as CES continues its rapid growth nationwide.

Key Skills & Experiences:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in the United States with a J.D. or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • 3+ years of experience in real estate law, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Strong expertise in commercial real estate transactions.
