$130,000+ at plan
Responsibilities
- Strategize, prepare for, and attend trial proceedings, mediation, and arbitration
- Conduct research and draft pleadings, briefs, and motions
- Counsel associates to resolve or prevent conflicts
- Represent clients in court to argue motions during legal proceedings
- Keep apprised of changes to local, state, and federal statutes and laws
- As our Firm’s Senior Associate, you will exercise independence in devising legal strategies, providing excellent legal representation to our clients, and serving as a leader to our team. To be a key player on our team, you must be dedicated to excellence hard work, and experience with a top-tier practice in Family Law and Litigation matters
- In this role, you will assume full responsibility for the Firm’s legal production pipeline—from Legal Strategy Sessions to the delivery of work to the client. You will also oversee and manage the legal team and support staff and ensure all legal work is completed efficiently, accurately, and on time
Qualifications
- Member of state and local bar associations in good standing
- Four-year bachelor’s degree and successful completion of law school from an accredited law school
- Work independently while handling a heavy caseload
- Prior experience representing clients in trials, mediation, and arbitration
- At least 5 years of experience working as a senior associate attorney
Additional Job Requirements Are
- You must have courtroom litigation experience with a track record of success
- You must be available for in-person appearances at mediations, meetings, and court proceedings in the following areas From Albany, NY to Plattsburgh, New York. Outside of those responsibilities, daily work location is flexible.
- You are a thorough and precise researcher, writer, and speaker
- Your great technical acumen is matched by your patience, compassion, and attention to our clients and the successful resolution of their legal matters
- You are confident, flexible, growth-minded, and comfortable in a management role
- You have or are willing to take the following advanced training Certified Divorce Specialist™ training, 30 hours of basic Mediation training, and 15 hours of Interdisciplinary Collaborative Divorce training
- You are licensed in New York and have a clean professional discipline record
You must be good with basic legal technology; specifically
- Microsoft Office
- Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Westlaw
- Ooma
- Google Workspace Suite
- Dropbox
- Familiarity with Clio Grow, Clio Manage, and Family Law Software is a plus
