PRIMARY PURPOSE:

It is the primary responsibility of the Legal Counsel to perform professional legal work drafting, negotiating, and interpreting complex commercial agreements in technology, supply chain, and procurement for MGM Resorts International and subsidiary organizations. 

  • Provide strategic and proactive legal advice and counseling in business-to-business arrangements on issues like IT outsourcing arrangements, software licensing, and hardware purchase and leases and implementation agreements.  Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills. Prior non-legal work experience in information technology or outsourcing is helpful.
  • Experience with cyber security and privacy to ensure that customer information processed by a third party is collected, stored, and used in compliance with MGM Resorts’ privacy and data security policies and with applicable laws and regulations, is strongly preferred.
  • Collaborate with, and potentially supervise, paralegals.
  • Inspire confidence in senior level business clients by consistently providing sound, practical legal advice and solutions to complex issues in a timely and understandable manner.
  • Exhibit a strong work effort while working efficiently, reliably, and responsively.
  • Takes ownership of complex projects in one or more specialized areas of law with minimal supervision utilizing sound and independent judgment and problem‐solving skills.
  • Demonstrates leadership and teamwork skills in support of a fast‐paced, collaborative environment with many stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates confidence in risk‐managed decision making and judgment.
  • Exhibits utmost professionalism in all settings; is capable of deploying strong advocacy skills in a tactful and effective manner.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Juris Doctor
  • 4+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience
