Northrop Grumman seeks an in-house lawyer to support its Strategic Space Systems division, headquartered in Redondo Beach, California. Responsibilities include assisting and counseling on matters associated with the pursuit, capture, and execution of US Government and commercial contracts and associated operations, as well as coordinating with various legal specialists inside the company to support litigation and internal investigations, as well as intellectual property, export, employment and other matters impacting the business.
Succeeding in this position requires superb problem-solving skills, sound judgement and discretion, the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively, a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement, ownership of results, and the highest standards of integrity and ethics. The position reports to the Division Counsel for Strategic Space Systems and will be located in Redondo Beach, California.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- JD from an accredited US law school.
- Member of the state bar in the applicable location, capable of being licensed through testing or comity, or, in lieu of licensure, capable of practicing as an in-house counsel in accordance with applicable state bar rules.
- 6 or more years of relevant experience at law firms, US Government agencies and/or in-house legal departments.
- Candidates must have the ability to obtain a DOD Secret level security clearance as a condition of continued employment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with contracting and subcontracting in support of US Government programs and/or with complex commercial transactions.
- Excellence in analyzing legal concepts and ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences, including all levels within the organization, from executive leadership to first-line supervisors, customer representatives and attorneys, and all levels of Government agency personnel.
- Ability to provide accurate, timely and pragmatic advice.
- Ability to promote and contribute to a collaborative team environment that encourages and supports inclusion to drive innovation and reach the best solutions to complex problems.
- Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to balance multiple competing priorities.
- Ability to direct the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems applying advanced analytical thought and judgment.
- Proven success leading teams and driving for results in a matrixed organization.
- An active US security clearance at the Secret level or higher.
Salary Range: $221,600 - $318,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
