U.S. Public Sector - Senior Counsel
Broadcom is seeking a high caliber, experienced and energetic leader and attorney, with in-depth experience in government contracts generally and sales of software licenses, SaaS, and IT services to federal, state, and local government customers in the US. You will work closely with Broadcom’s federal, state, and local public sector sales teams to negotiate, draft, and close sales contracts, manage government contracts compliance matters, and contribute to initiatives for improving internal contracting processes.
Job Description
You will negotiate and manage software, SaaS, and IT services transactions from cradle to grave and handle administration of US public sector contracts. You will cover a number of customer segments in an individual contributor role as the primary legal support for contracting matters. You will also supervise and direct outside counsel as needed. You will have a number of specific compliance-related duties under the company’s public sector compliance policy. You will contribute actively to the Broadcom Legal team in the ongoing development of knowledge, skills and processes and lead initiatives and special projects as required. You will report to the Senior Associate General Counsel, WW BU & Ops Team.
Requirements
Excellent at negotiating and closing complex software licensing and SaaS transactions with government customers
Experience supporting relationships and contracts with distributors and resellers for government sales
Substantive expertise in government contracts and intellectual property law, and knowledge of state and federal contracting processes
Experience assessing and advising clients on the initial stages of disputes, particularly breach of contract claims with customers
Experience performing contractual research to maintain compliance with applicable government regulations
Enjoys learning about cutting-edge technology and products
Demonstrated ability to find creative solutions to challenges and new and simpler ways to get things done
Ability to make sound and independent judgments, and make recommendations on a wide variety of contract matters
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with a broad audience including engineering, marketing, sales, and finance professionals
Ability to lead cross-functionally in a matrix environment, obtain buy-in and drive cross-functional processes
Ability to multitask, prioritize work load and competing priorities
Demonstrates strong attention to detail
Ability to provide high quality product in a timely manner
Efficient, effective and well organized
Customer service oriented
Willingness to travel within the U.S. as needed
Security Clearance preferred
Law degree from an accredited law school and active, good standing membership in at least one U.S. State bar

Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary range for this position is $155,000 - $273,000.
This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
