Overview

The Compliance Systems Product Manager role resides within the Compliance Systems Solutions and Integration group of the Global Compliance organization at First Citizens Bank.

This role is responsible to support the Global Compliance organization by providing product leadership, end user research and insights to improve the compliance systems product offerings, features and functionality to improvs the end user customer experience and operational efficiency through driving identified business needs through to Agile pod(s) responsible for the delivery.

This position is responsible for the usage optimization and growth of new and existing compliance systems and solutions. This is an Individual Contributor role that works with a wide range of cross-functional stakeholders, teams, and subject-matter-experts to ensure initiatives within their value stream have a defined book of work that is delivered in alignment with stated objectives, meet the defined success criteria and, is completed within appropriate time and within budget.

In addition to the Product Owner activities outlined above this role also provides active leadership through business systems analysis partnering with the business and Agile team to define and plan business activities, coordinating, doing gap analysis, documenting and configuring workflows and business requirements, mapping activities, and at times leading the non-IT tasks and activities required on the project/initiatives. One of the key aspects of this role is stakeholder relationship management to ensure a harmonious relationship with all business, technology and operations leaders, to partner with them in defining the product vision and build/manage a 18-month product roadmap.

This role is proactive in reaching out to cross functional teams needed for success and aligning/coordinating the work and timing of deliverables to meet business needs. You will develop product delivery strategies based on situational awareness and the change in business requirements, and Compliance policies and procedures. Your expertise equips you with the ability to develop and implement comprehensive plans across multiple Compliance product initiatives simultaneously that lead to quality execution and sustainability which ultimately enables Agile teams to achieve successful results. You are responsible for managing all aspects of business needs including but not limited to business value delivery, end-user training, driving system feature changes to align with Policy & Procedure updates and ensuring delivered product features meet business objectives. You will create product delivery strategies including Minimum Viable Product (MVP) identification and delivery, and prioritization of roadmap items on time and with a high quality. Your approach is forward-looking, holistic, comprehensive, action-oriented, flexible, and adaptable. You are analytical and organized with a natural inclination for planning and are resilient with a propensity to persevere.

This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Lead preparation and execution of Product Increment Planning and rally Agile teams to align with product vision.
  • Build and manage a rolling 18-month product roadmap inclusive of Compliance integration book of work, business feature requests, tech debt and BAU tasks.
  • Identify and manage value stream priorities, create epics and user stories with acceptance criteria (in partnership with business leads and subject matter experts) in Jira and Confluence
  • Working with business leads and SMEs, build and manage product backlog and drive prioritization based on quantified business value.
  • Act as primary point of contact (the “Voice Of Customer”) who represents business interests and delivery objectives in all conversations. Make decisions as appropriate (based on business leadership alignment).
  • Understand and document operational impact of identified risks and issues and escalate through appropriate channels for a timely resolution.
  • Assess solutions proposed by IT team, vendors on behalf of the business to ensure it meets the product feature requirements.
  • Partner with technology and portfolio leads to identify growth opportunities for team’s Agile maturity and develop action plans.
  • Develop and oversee operational roll-out inclusive of training, communications and change management for implemented system capabilities.
  • Define as is/to be business architecture and process flows (as applicable)
  • Mentor and coach business leads and Agile team in Scaled Agile framework, concepts and approaches that help improve the delivery maturity.
  • Draft and present sponsor and executive updates as needed.
  • Build deep and meaningful relationships with business and technology stakeholders to promote collaboration and alignment with the product vision.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in Compliance, Legal, Audit, Banking or other related experience OR High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in Compliance, Legal, Audit, Banking or other related experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8 years of professional experience in business systems analysis
  • 5+ years as an Agile product manager/product owner in a SCRUM environment
  • SAFe Product Owner / Product Manager Certification
  • 3+ Experience working within a Financial Crimes Risk Management, Global Compliance or BSA/AML domains

The base pay for this position is generally between $118,000 and $175,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
