The Global Compliance Operations Director will play a strategic role in developing and managing key elements of an effective compliance program for the Life Sciences operating companies within Danaher. This role is responsible for leading a team of compliance professionals, continuously improving compliance systems, processes and controls to assure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements and fostering a culture of ethical business practices. This role will oversee compliance operations programs and projects, including third party due diligence management, developing and implementing policies and procedures, training and communications, compliance monitoring and remediation, establishing key performance indicators and management reporting processes, and providing strategic guidance to senior management to optimize the Life Sciences Compliance Program and mitigate compliance risks.

This position is part of the Life Sciences Platform Legal Team and will be located remotely in the United States.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead and manage the Life Sciences global compliance operations team, providing direction, support, and development opportunities.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring they are up to date with current laws, regulations, and industry best practices;
  • Stay informed about changes in regulatory requirements and assess their impact on the organization; oversee regular risk assessment processes to identify potential compliance issues and areas for improvement, develop and implement strategies to mitigate compliance risks, and monitor and report on the effectiveness of compliance controls and initiatives.
  • Develop and implement monitoring and auditing programs to assess compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Promote awareness of compliance issues and foster a culture of ethical behavior through compliance training and awareness programs.
  • Oversee compliance aspects of third-party distributor management and conduct due diligence and ensure third parties adhere to the company's compliance standards.

Requirements:

 

  • 7+ years of global compliance experience is required in life sciences, health care, and/or other highly regulated industries.
  • 3+ years’ experience managing people (line and/ or project team management).
  • B.A. or B.S. or similar university degree required.
  • Experience designing and implementing effective compliance programs per the U.S. DOJ Sentencing Guidelines and DOJ’s Guidance on the Evaluation of Corporate Compliance Programs, and/or the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General’s Guidance for Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (“the Seven Elements of an Effective Compliance Program”) along with knowledge of various global industry codes and standards, Anti-bribery/Anti-Corruption laws, Data Privacy laws, etc., with an understanding of how these requirements apply to the organization’s daily operations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with a wide variety of audiences, including senior management and a proven ability to engage, influence and align with multiple stakeholders.
  • 25% travel.

Preferred

 

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree and/or Compliance Certification/Credentials, e.g., Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP).
  • Data privacy compliance program experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Detailed knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • A solid understanding of EthicsPoint (a Navex platform) or similar compliance hotline provider.

The salary range for this role is $195,000 - $210,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
