Trueline's client is seeking an Employment & Labor Associate to join their team in Kansas City, Missouri. This is an exciting opportunity to join a nationally recognized practice and take on significant responsibility within a cohesive team. Other optional locations include St. Louis, Kansas City, and Atlanta. MUST BE BARRED IN STATE OF PRACTICE. This is NOT a litigation role. This is mostly corporate work. It is corporate work within Labor and Employment. Do not apply if litigation is your background. Skills/Experience/Responsibilities:· 60%+ deal work (not litigation)· Employment and labor law in the context of mergers and acquisitions· Due Diligence and diligence memoranda· Disclosure Schedules· Review and drafting of employment-related representations and covenants in merger agreements· Stock and asset purchase agreements· Deal-related executive employment and separation agreements· Review and drafting of various workplace policies, rules, and handbooks for employers with operations and employees nationwide· Practice advice for management-side clients regarding various workplace laws (ADA, FMLA, FLSA, ADEA, NLRA, WARN Act)Bar Admissions: State-Specific What You'll Do as the Employment & Labor Associate:• Handle employment and labor law aspects of mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, drafting documents, and deal-related agreements• Review and draft workplace policies, work rules, and handbooks for nationwide employers• Provide practical advice to management-side clients on various workplace laws (ADA, FMLA, FLSA, ADEA, NLRA, WARN Act)• Manage client engagements and assume a high degree of responsibility• Collaborate with a diverse team across multiple offices and practice areas You'll Succeed as the Mid-Level Employment & Labor Associate if you Have:• 3-6 years of experience in employment and labor law• Excellent written and oral communication skills• Superior analytical abilities• Strong interpersonal skills and work ethic• Ability to manage multiple priorities• J.D. from an accredited law school and bar admission (or eligibility) in the state of practice Our Client Offers:• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance• Life insurance and retirement plans• Flexible time off plans, including paid parental leave and PTO• Inclusive work environment that values diversity and allows employees to be themselves• Opportunities for professional development and growth• Collaborative culture in a global, innovative law firm setting• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, as evidenced by various recognitions and certifications
