Our Global Legal Team is a key enabler of our firm's success, helping to drive impact and progress across several important dimensions. As a member of the Legal team, you will collaborate across BCG teams and functions to support our business growth strategy, provide counsel and expertise, drive legal innovation, and leverage the power of new ways of working. You will play a critical role in the Regulatory & Compliance Platform and Corporate Center of Expertise (COE)'s approach to solving existing and emerging regulatory and compliance challenges, including but not limited regulatory topics such as foreign agent registration, anti-trust, ESG, NDAA, export control, AI, AB&C, and lobbying.
What You’ll Do
The Legal Counsel – Regulatory Programs position requires a mix regulatory/legal, strategic consulting and project/change management experience. This role will require you to develop and deploy expertise in current and evolving regulatory issues while also concurrently building out BCG Legal’s regulatory program, tools and associated processes associated with such regulatory issue (e.g., horizon scanning, legal analysis, operational design and program rollout). Among other responsibilities, you will:
Drive Regulatory Change Initiatives: Identify, manage, and drive regulatory compliance projects impacting BCG’s global business from a strategic, tactical, and operational perspective in partnership with Compliance and others parts of the business. Bolster Regulatory Flywheel Approach: Support the ongoing development of BCG's Regulatory Flywheel on regulatory topics, connecting various Corporate COE platforms (e.g., Privacy, Public Sector) to drive consistency across the firm. Leverage Consulting Skills: Collaborate with Legal and other functions to combine expertise and improve regulatory change efforts, ensuring ongoing efficiencies in Legal’s implementation and support. Design and Implement Regulatory Programs: Work on the design and operational rollout of compliance programs, supporting the business in responding to regulatory changes. Drive Efficiencies of Legal Support: Work with Legal’s Strategy and Operations COE to develop actionable processes and tools that drive scalability in BCG’s regulatory programs (e.g., GPTs, upfront process for regulatory scanning analysis and other programmatic tools features based on regulatory need) Lead Crisis Management and Special Projects: Partner on crisis management initiatives and take ownership of discrete legal projects as they arise. Support Training and Development: Provide training and continued development of skills within the global legal team and broader business, particularly on regulatory and compliance issues. Contribute to Running the Business: Leveraging expertise gained through change the business initiatives support on various legal and regulatory topics (foreign agent registration, anti-trust, ESG, NDAA, conflicts management export control, AI, AB&C, and lobbying). Act as a Central Point of Contact: Serve as a key resource for knowledge aggregation, horizon scanning of regulatory trends, and risk mitigation strategies. Partner on Existing Regulatory Programs: as the need arises provide support on operational aspects of BCG’s Clears framework (Client Clear, Conflict Clear, Topic Clear).
What You'll Bring
Educational Background: Graduate degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school (with an active bar license) and an undergraduate business or M.B.A. degree Legal Experience: with a top-tier law firm or sophisticated in-house legal department Strategic Management Consulting Experience: with a leading strategy consulting firm. This includes experience managing overall project delivery, developing leading edge business models and strategies, delivering formal presentation to management and managing stakeholders to drive consensus around business initiatives. Overall Experience: 5-8 years of legal and consulting experience, with 1+ years at a team lead level, ideally with a focus on regulatory, risk management and compliance topics. Project management certifications and/and expertise Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with fluency in English.

BCG's legal group manages a full spectrum of legal issues, including contracts, intellectual property, regulatory matters, corporate compliance, and corporate governance. The firm's legal team serves as both a trusted advisor to the business and an activist agent of change.
