We are seeking a litigation attorney to become part of our team! The in-house litigation department of a Fortune 500 company is seeking a litigation counsel to join our Washington offices based out of Seattle, Washington. The firm specializes in litigating title insurance, escrow and related real property matters in State and Federal Courts in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Responsibilities:Litigate cases to verdict, demonstrating superior use of trial skills and techniques.Independently handle a full caseload from case inception through trial/resolution.Independently draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery and other legal documents.Conduct legal research as needed and supervise projects delegated to litigation assistants/paralegals. Candidate must also demonstrate an ability to mentor, train and work collegially with legal support staff.Attend court hearings, depositions and other appointments independently.Provide recommendations and case analysis to claims personnel on appropriate file handling strategy.Complete all required administrative tasks and other matters appropriate to performance of job duties. No “billable hour” requirements or marketing required in the position.Learn and understand client’s expectations and key department business goals and assists them in meeting those goals.Travel as required to meet business needs throughout Washington, Oregon and Idaho and other jurisdictions as needed. Qualifications:Graduation from an accredited law school.5-10 year’s litigation experience required.Articulate presentation skills using technology, strong and persuasive legal writing, and oral advocacy skills.Candidates must effectively understand and utilize technology, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office products, and other law office management programs.Applicants must be licensed with the State Bar of Washington, Oregon or Idaho (with willingness to immediately obtain tri-state reciprocity) with no record of discipline. Salary range for the position is $150,000 - $170,000, based upon litigation and trial experience of candidate.
