Experienced Litigation Attorney – Enhanced Associate Solutions (EAS) Location: New York, NY (Financial District) Work Arrangement: 100% On-site | Up to 40 hours/week (No overtime) Duration: Initial project of 6+ months, with potential for extension Start Date: Upon clearance of background check Pay: $54 - $59; based on experience

Position Overview We are seeking mid-level to senior litigation attorneys to support the Litigation Division within a government office. This role is focused on supporting the division attorneys with substantive work for discovery (paper and electronic), motion practice and/or settlements in defense of the City and its officials in civil rights cases brought in federal court.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assignments could include, but not limited to, preparing settlement memos, document review, digesting transcripts, legal research and writing, and custodial and witness interviews.
  • Identify key facts, themes, and issues relevant to active civil litigation.
  • Support litigation counsel with substantive case development and trial preparation.
  • Work independently while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy under supervision.

Required Qualification s

  • Active New York State Bar admission and in good standing.
  • Residence in the State of New York or ability to commute to client’s on-site office in the Financial District.
  • Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience ; 7+ years strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience drafting legal memoranda, summaries, or motions.
  • Excellent research, writing, and comprehension skills.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Willingness to undergo a background check.
  • Ability to work onsite at client’s office for the duration of the engagement.

Preferred Qualifications __

  • Prior experience with government entities, District Attorney’s Offices, or public sector litigation.
  • Relativity experience , particularly with database organization and issue coding.
  • Admission to Federal Court preferred.
  • Experience working on civil rights, constitutional law, or complex litigation matters.

Writing Requirement __

  • Candidates must submit a 5–10 page legal writing sample demonstrating analytical and drafting ability (e.g., motion, memorandum, or brief).

Compensation

  • $54 - $59 per hour, based on experience
  • This role is NOT an FTE role but rather an LDE (Limited Duration Employee) role
