Job description:
Contract Manager to take ownership of lower-complexity, high-volume contract work so that in-house attorneys can stay focused on strategic transactions.
What You'll Do
- Review, redline, and finalize NDAs, including identifying and flagging unusual or non-standard terms
- Manage NDA intake where preferred starting point is a one NDA-style template, including situations where counterparties won't accept that form and an alternate path is needed
- Conduct quick legal review (not heavy negotiation) of procurement-type agreements such as vendor, hotel, and event contracts
- Field general contract-related questions that come in from internal stakeholders on an ad hoc basis
- Triage incoming contract requests and independently resolve the routine ones, escalating only the genuinely complex or high-stakes items to attorneys
- Keep contract turnaround moving so that volume doesn't become a bottleneck for the broader team
What We're Looking For
- Experience reviewing and managing common commercial agreements (NDAs, vendor/procurement contracts) independently, without requiring an attorney for every decision
- Some background in legal operations or contract administration and associated tools is a plus, though not required
- Comfort working with general productivity tools (Microsoft Office, Google Drive)
- Familiarity with AI-assisted legal tools is a plus — recently rolled out Harvey, and prior experience using AI tools in a legal workflow will help you ramp quickly
- Strong judgment on when something is "routine" versus when it needs attorney attention
- Comfortable with a fast-paced, high-volume, quick-turnaround style of work rather than deep, drawn-out negotiations
