Litigation Associate - 5+ YOE [Spanish Speaking][Contract]

Description

Legal.io is working with a law firm to hire two (2) mid-level associates (5 - 7 years of experience) for a 6-month project, with possibility to be extended.

The candidate must have general experience with federal litigation, as well as specific experience handling discovery, taking and defending depositions, drafting pleadings, and document review.

Spanish language skills are a big plus!

What You’ll Do

• You'll be working on cases involving a federal statute that deals with property seizure and forfeiture.
• You will begin by going through a few potential claims to determine which ones the firm should proceed with.
• Assist in all aspects of pre-litigation and litigation, including factual investigation, case analysis, tracking and communication of case-related dates and information, and the review and preparation of pleadings and correspondence
• Track, manage, and report on current, active pre-litigation and litigation matters
• Assist in directing strategy for litigation
• Spanish language skills a plus

Who You Are:

• Experience with litigation
• Demonstrates outstanding judgment and makes consistent good decisions for the firm and clients.
• Communicates clearly and empathetically both face-to-face and in writing.

Required Qualifications:

• 5 - 10 years of litigation experience
• JD + license to practice in at least one US jurisdiction.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Spanish language skills

Role Details: 

• Anticipated Start Date: Immediately
• Schedule: 40 hours per week for 6 months
• Pay Rate: $70 / hr - $85/hr ($140k - $170k annually)
