Sr. Paralegal

Works with attorneys and others researching law, investigating facts and preparing legal documents including SEC filings and corporate governance documents. Under minimal supervision performs routine assignments. Ability to recognize and communicate potential compliance issues. May develop and present materials within established guidelines and responds to concerns/issues. A successful individual in this position will demonstrate initiative, is able to communicate with various stakeholders, demonstrates proficiency in writing, and works well with others.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Provides information and status on assigned matters
  • Investigates facts, prepares high-quality written correspondence and documentation and works with in-house corporate and outside counsel
  • Performs necessary legal research and analysis
  • Prepares written communications regarding corporate governance matters
  • Prepares and reviews SEC filings and other legal documents for final approval by attorneys
  • Coordinates with vendors and contractors concerning proxy and annual meeting logistics, Board portal maintenance, SEC filings and printing, and related matters
  • Actively coordinates and prioritizes activities within functional area
  • Identifies and recommends best practices and improvements to processes within functional area
  • Understands and applies competent securities and corporate legal concepts within area of responsibility
  • Conducts business safely and with the highest ethical standards
  • Other general duties as assigned

Computer/Software Applications:
Competent level of skill and familiarity with Microsoft Office. Competent knowledge of company specific software and related legal applications. Has the ability to learn new and changing systems and applications.

Role-Specific Technical Knowledge & Skills:
Competent knowledge of current legal and compliance laws, including securities laws, public company listing standards, and related corporate legal matters. Competent in analyzing data and understanding the impact to the business, and demonstrates proficiency in writing.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred and paralegal certification required.

Typical Experience:
Minimum of 4 years of experience is preferred with a public company with corporate and securities experience. Oil and gas industry experience preferred.

Salary Range: $74,400-$106,950 plus annual discretionary bonus, medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO, etc
