Legal Operations Manager

As Legal Operations Manager at SharkNinja, you will support all business aspects of the Legal Team. You will be a part of a true cross functional team and you will help implement and develop operational efficiencies for the department.

This role would have primary responsibility for a variety of legal operations matters in support of the department, reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, and would work with an innovative and highly cross functional business minded team of attorneys. This role takes an innovative approach to legal operations in support of strategic business initiatives and objectives.

Purpose of the Legal Operations Manager is to deliver and oversee a superior model for SharkNinja by creating and managing organizational and operational processes to further improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the team. Focus is on incorporating the right technological tools to drive efficiencies in managing risk and delivering value to the legal team through strategic planning, financial management, project management, and technology portfolio investment expertise.

Responsibilities:

    • Process improvement: Identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies in the legal team’s organizational structure, systems and technologies.
    • Developing solutions to better capture and manage information and expertise and to share insights and best practices among the business’ attorneys in order to enhance quality and efficiency.
    • Legal Information Technology: Stay abreast of latest legal technology developments.
    • Assess, implement and drive capabilities of solutions relevant to areas such as content management, contract management, IP management, policy management, business process management, compliance management and subsidiary management.
    • Review form documents such as Statements of Work, and other form documents as requested.
    • Develop, maintain and enhance department’s intranet page, Legal Portal and other platforms to increase utilization and maximize value.
    • Project management: Define roles, responsibilities, accountabilities, and timelines for project tasks.
    • Coordinating the activities of cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful execution.
    • Prepare presentations, reports, decks, analyses and other materials requested by department leadership.
    • Reporting & Analytics: Develop and implement appropriate metrics and benchmarking through data analytics to measure the legal team’s performance both within and outside the department.
    • Budget & Vendor management: Manage departmental budget /external spend, including the planning cycle within the company timeline.
    • Complete budget oversight, working closely with Finance Team on budget forecasting, budget-to-actual variance analysis, and reporting on costs and trends
    • Oversee and manage cost effective litigation support.
    • Contribute to and prepare administrative aspects of quarterly and annual planning, operational objectives, and budget initiatives
    • Work cross-functionally with Legal, Procurement, and Accounting to manage outside counsel and vendor relationships, including engagement agreements, associated budgets, compliance with billing guidelines, and related internal and external communications

Requirements:

    • Education: Bachelor Degree
    • Work experience: 10 + years relevant, broad based legal operations experience gained in an in-house legal department; public company experience is a plus
    • JD degree or Paralegal experience is a plus
    • Excellent IT skills are a requirement: Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio), Adobe Acrobat, and other next generation project management solutions.
    • Excellent communication skills
    • A strong financial acumen and drive for change
    • Primarily a team player but able to work under own initiative
