About the Role

WeWork is seeking a Counsel for the Legal Services team based in our NYC Headquarters. In this role, you will provide general legal support on a variety of contract and advisory matters. You will work with both internal and external stakeholders to draft and negotiate contracts, especially client-facing membership agreements. You will also help develop, advise on, and implement best practices, policies, and processes pertaining to WeWork’s sales and commercial agreements.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft, negotiate, review, and provide time-sensitive legal advice on contracts with WeWork member companies in the US and across WeWork’s global portfolio.

  • Liaise and collaborate with internal legal specialists and business stakeholders throughout WeWork (e.g., sales, finance, real estate, technology, construction, HR, privacy, etc.) in connection with creating and maintaining member agreements and supporting WeWork’s Sales and Community organizations.

  • Negotiate and draft commercial agreements.

  • Develop and implement processes for efficient and streamlined operations surrounding contract documentation, amendments, and post-execution matters.

  • Develop, maintain, and update form agreements, contract management systems, and other databases.

Qualifications:

  • Admitted to the New York Bar or otherwise eligible to register as in-house counsel.

  • 2+ years of experience within a law firm and/or in-house law department.

  • Ability to spot novel issues within assigned practice areas and escalate appropriately.

  • Ability to understand business needs and partner with business stakeholders to create solutions.

  • Ability to distill legal concepts and communicate effectively with a non-legal audience.

  • Collaborative team player.
