Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Regulatory Analyst to join our Regulatory Operations Team.

Oscar is the first health insurance company built around a full stack technology platform and a relentless focus on serving our members. We started Oscar in 2012 to create the kind of health insurance company we would want for ourselves—one that behaves like a doctor in the family.

About the role:

The Regulatory Operations team responsible for project managing and supporting discrete tasks to ensure Oscar is compliant with federal and state health plan requirements.

The Regulatory Analyst assists with the preparation and filing of Oscar's insurance products through the annual QHP filings

You will report into the Sr. Manager Regulatory Operations. This is a remote / work-from-home role. You must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, or Washington. Note, this list of states is subject to change.

Responsibilities:

  • Support successful relationships with regulatory bodies, including state insurance regulators (e.g., DMHC in California, Arizona Department of Insurance, Texas Department of Insurance), and state-based exchanges (e.g., Covered California).
  • Maintain processes for internal tracking and monitoring annual filings with diverse teams.
  • Contribute to the development of a repository of internal procedural guides on annual filing obligations to support teams and retain institutional knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of experience.
  • 1+ years of QHP form filings experience
  • Demonstrated project management skills.

Bonus points:

  • A technical bend and the ability to use tools to answer your own questions (e.g. SQL/Python)
